Named in honor of Judge Lawrence Huerta, the first Native American graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law and a pioneering advocate for Indigenous rights, this student-focused computer lab stands as a symbol of academic excellence, technological empowerment, and community leadership at the PYT-UA Microcampus.
The Judge Lawrence Huerta Student Learning Center is more than just a computer lab—it's a dynamic learning environment equipped to support a wide range of educational programs. From foundational computer literacy to cutting-edge instruction in Tribal Web Development and building custom AI large language models (LLMs), the lab is designed to prepare students for the evolving digital world while honoring Indigenous self-determination.

- 8 high-speed desktop computer stations with full access to the UA digital ecosystem
- Secure UAWiFi connectivity for seamless access to university platforms
- Full Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based tools
- Support for hybrid classes, including virtual guest lectures and remote learning
- 70-inch smart touchscreen board, allowing instructors to draw, present, and interact live—perfect for both in-person and Zoom audiences
- 55-inch desktop monitor mirroring the instructor’s computer for enhanced visibility
- 4K AI-powered webcam that detects and tracks the instructor’s movement, enhancing engagement for online learners
This lab is fully equipped to host:
